22 февраля 1461 в ходе Войны Роз произошла Вторая битва при Сент-Олбансе, в которой армия Маргариты Анжуйской (дом Ланкастеров) нанесла поражение йоркистам во главе с Ричардом Невиллом, графом Уорвиком, и освободила из плена мужа Маргариты Генриха VI.
