25 сентября 1917 председатель Гуляйпольского Совета рабочих и крестьянских депутатов Н.И. Махно подписал декрет о национализации земли и разделе её между крестьянами, вопреки распоряжениям Временного правительства и Центральной рады. Махновское "вольное" мини-государство стало свершившимся фактом.
