4 октября 1944 г. В ходе операции " Лидер" (удар по немецким базам в Норвегии) авиагруппа авианосца USS Ranger потопила 5 и повредила 3 немецких судна. Первая и последняя операция американских авианосцев в Заполярье в ходе ВМВ.
