7 ноября 1888 г. В Гуляй-Поле, Александровский уезд, Екатеринославская губерния — родился Н.И. Махно, анархист, в 1918—1920 лидер крестьян-анархистов и командующий «Революционной повстанческой армией» на южном театре Гражданской войны. Известен как батько Махно (официально подписывал так некоторые приказы).
