3 апреля 1920 Нарушив соглашение с РКА (Рурской Красной армией) от 22.03.1920 г. 20-тысячная германская армия (5 пехотных, 1 кав.дивизии) вторглась в Рурскую область и завязала бои с РКА. В ответ на вступление немецких войск в демилитаризованную зону, французские войска форсировали р.Рейн и оккупировали гг.Франкфурт, Дармштадт и Ганау.
