14 апреля 1849 в ходе т.н. Мартовской революции венгры провозгласили независимость от Австо-венгерской империи и Республику, что привело к войне за независимость Венгрии.

Всё-таки ЕМНИП от Австрийской империи. Австро-Венгерской империя стала через 18 лет, в 1867.
