21 октября 1944 Первая атака камикадзе. Австралийский крейсер HMAS Australia (D84) атакован японским самолетом с 200-кг бомбой.в районе о. Лейте. К счастью, бомба не взорвалась. Тем не менее, в результате атаки погибло 30 человек экипажа, в том числе и командир корабля.
